DOCS · T5.4 CLAIMS AUDIT

Audit API

Submit a claim, receive a verdict, and resolve the nine truth rules as JSON. A verdict is immutable, signed, and byte-stable for a given audit ID.

Endpoints

POST/api/claims/auditBearer token

Submit a claim for adjudication. Returns an audit ID immediately and a verdict when the evidence tier is reached.

GET/api/claims/audit/{audit_id}Bearer token

Retrieve a verdict by audit ID. The response is byte-stable for a given audit ID, so it can be cached indefinitely.

GET/api/claims/truth-rulesNone

The nine truth rules as machine-readable JSON, with identifiers, statements and rule text. Public, no authentication, no rate limit.

GET/api/claims/tiersNone

The N0-N4 evidence tiers and what each one entitles a verdict to claim.

POST/api/claims/manifestBearer token

Register a runnable artifact and receive its canonical hash. The hash is what makes a claim citable under rule TR-9.

POST/api/claims/pdfBearer token

Render a signed PDF audit report for a completed audit ID.

Submit a claim

The canonical hash is what makes the submission reproducible. Without it the claim is still accepted, but it caps the achievable evidence tier at N1.

Error codes

claim_missing

The claim string was absent or empty. A claim is required; evidence is not.

artifact_unreachable

The artifact URL could not be fetched. Preprints behind a paywall must be attached directly.

hash_mismatch

The canonical hash does not match the registered manifest. Re-register the artifact.

tier_unavailable

The requested evidence tier exceeds what the submitted evidence supports.

already_adjudicated

This audit ID has a final verdict. A verdict is immutable by design.

rate_limited

Too many submissions. Returns 429 with a Retry-After header.

Verdicts are immutable

A verdict cannot be edited, only superseded by a new audit against the same claim. This is deliberate: an audit trail that can be rewritten is not an audit trail. If you believe a verdict is wrong, submit a re-execution and reference the original audit ID.

Start with a claim

The intake form takes the same fields the API does. If you are not sure whether a claim is auditable, submit it — a N0 rejection is a fast, free answer.
